Preparing for Examination

Miss Jaiyeoba
exams

Dear Parents.

Our Pep Talk for this week is Preparing for Examination

Preparing for examination means getting ready ahead of time for tests or assessments. It involves proper study habits, revision, good behavior, and taking care of oneself physically and mentally in order to perform well in examinations.

It is important to note that preparing well for examinations brings the following benefits;

(i) Builds confidence in pupils.
(ii) Reduces fear and anxiety during examinations.
(iii) Helps pupils remember what they have been taught.
(iv) Encourages discipline and responsibility.
(v) Leads to better academic performance.
(vi) Helps pupils manage their time properly.
(vii) Promotes independent learning and good study habits.

Additionally, our GET-- IT - RIGHT topic is the use of Eat, Ate and Eaten.

These words are forms of the verb eat.

Eat:

1. It is the present form of the verb.
2. It is used when something is happening now or regularly.
3. Example: “I eat rice every day.”

Ate:

1. It is the past tense of eat.
2. It is used to talk about something that has already happened.
3. Example: “She ate her lunch yesterday.”

Eaten:

1. It is the past participle form of eat.
2. It is used with helping verbs such as has, have, or had.
3. Example: “They have eaten their food.”

How can parents help? We can encourage our children to do the following;

1. Create a good reading timetable at home.
2. Ensure they revise their classwork daily.
3. Encourage early bedtime and enough rest.
4. Provide a quiet place for studying.
5. Motivate them to ask questions where they do not understand.
6. Help them practise using eat, ate, and eaten correctly in sentences.
7. Encourage positive thinking and confidence before examinations.

This will help them prepare properly for examinations, improve their spoken and written English, and boost their confidence academically.

Thank you
